i was a member but never bothered to pay the fees because i don't see any benefit being a member apart from it looks good in a resume. people seem to make a big deal out of it apparently. anyway, regarding the article, i read something similiar a few years back, and IMO, the reason could probably be traced back to our ancestors. females are always regarded lesser of the two, simply because their roles were different back then i.e cooking, raising children etc. this trend only changed for the past century beginning the industrial revolution that women are somewhat forced into labor work that we see women having equal roles as men. but having been doing menial work (noble, nevertheless) for so long, perhaps women suffer thus fare less successfully as men in professional jobs. except in management, i think. the fact that men are smarter does not bother me at all, because women are, essentially multi-taskers and this fact alone triumphs single-minded men who succeed in their respective fields. however, i do believe that a person should be awarded/given a job based on their merits, and not to fulfill some gender-equality scheme. ugh, did i even answer your question?
